Apple has recently updated its support page, specifically addressing the issue of drying devices in rice. On this page, Apple strongly advises against using rice as a method of drying phones, emphasizing the potential negative consequences.
It is not uncommon for iPhones to accidentally come into contact with water, leading many users to resort to the rice-drying method. However, Apple explicitly cautions against this practice, which prompted the creation of a dedicated support page to warn people about its potential risks.

According to Apple, using rice to dry your device may actually cause more harm than good. The rice grains have a tendency to get lodged in the charging slot, potentially resulting in additional repairs and costs.
Instead, Apple recommends a different approach. If your device gets wet, it is advisable to let it air dry for an extended period of time, preferably in a well-ventilated room near a radiator. Afterward, you should attempt to charge your phone to check if it has fully recovered. In the event that this does not resolve the issue, it is recommended to visit the nearest Apple service center for further assistance.
